As summer vacation comes to an end and schools start preparing for the new school year, schools leaders convene to share the latest information amongst one another. The ALL IN for Health Campaign team joined the effort by attending the Safe Schools Conference on July 31, 2014 in Anaheim, CA and sharing all our new back-to-school materials. During the conference, teachers, school board members, parents, and counselors came by our table and showed their interest in connecting their students and families to coverage. We came prepared with our new backpack stuffers—ALL IN back-to-school flyers and bookmarks. Their infectious enthusiasm to spread the word to their communities brightened up the room.

One of my personal highlights of the day was having the opportunity to meet with the keynote speaker, State Superintendent Tom Torlakson. He is cool not only for graduating from my alma mater (Go Bears!) but also for being a very strong supporter of the ALL IN for Health Campaign. He believes that, “Health coverage is vitally important because we need our students to be healthy to attend class and learn. It’s vitally important that students and their parents enroll into health coverage.” This is why the ALL IN Campaign is kicking off our back-to-school launch to promote health coverage options for all. Share our new back-to-school materials widely!
