Advancing Equity in Education & Health Care, School Health Conference - May 1, 2015

School health is a powerful force for increasing equity in children’s health and education. Join colleagues that share your commitment to equity at the California School-Based Health Alliance’s statewide conference - Advancing Equity in Education & Health Care - in San Diego April 30-May 1. Network with other children’s advocates, learn, and get resources to advance our collective mission to give all children an opportunity to succeed.

Location:             Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego

Schedule:             May 1: Attend the full day of workshops, exhibits, and networking with a special keynote address by California Assemblymember Shirley Weber.

April 30: Come early for an optional in-depth pre-conference workshop. Choose from: Planning a new school-based health center (SBHC Planning 101); Opening a financially sustainable SBHC (Planning 102); Appropriately applying HIPAA, FERPA, & other confidentiality laws; or Using trauma-informed strategies to de-escalate classroom conflict.

ALL IN For Health Day of Action and Countdown to End of Open Enrollment

 

 

On January 24, 2015, schools, early learning centers, and after-school sites across the state will launch a 22-day ALL IN For Health campaign to help all eligible families and individuals, connected to the education community, enroll in health coverage before open enrollment ends on February 15, 2015. Healthy kids make better learners, and connecting families to health coverage options will make the lives of students and families better!

Join us! There are so many activities you can do to connect families to coverage. From sending bookmarks and flyers home with students to making robocalls to remind families about health coverage enrollment opportunities, to hosting an enrollment event. Share this flyer to spread the word about the Day of Action.
