RIO LINDA HIGH SCHOOL HOSTS HEALTH CARE ENROLLMENT EVENT BEFORE APRIL 30 DEADLINE
Ahead of the April 30, 2015 Covered California special enrollment deadline, Rio Linda High School is teaming up with The Children’s Partnership’s ALL IN For Health Campaign to host a health coverage information and enrollment event for families. This event is part of a larger statewide coordinated effort in schools, early learning centers, and after-school sites across the state to help inform eligible families about health coverage opportunities through Covered California and Medi-Cal and connect them to coverage.
English- and Spanish-speaking representatives from Covered California and private health insurance plans will be available to help families and individuals sign up for health coverage. Information about health care options for undocumented and mixed-status families will also be available. The event is free and open to the public.
Covered California has offered a time-limited opportunity until April 30, 2015 to enroll for those who did not realize there was a tax penalty in 2014 or learned they may face a penalty in 2015. Medi-Cal enrollment is available year-round.
ABOUT ALL IN FOR HEALTH
ALL IN is a school-focused statewide Campaign to equip education leaders with the tools they need to educate families and individuals in the school, early learning, and after-school communities about health coverage opportunities and connect uninsured children, parents, and employees to health coverage. The initiative has made over 5.8 million contacts with parents, students, and school employees across California with messages about health coverage opportunities available as a result of health care reform. The ALL IN Campaign is a project of The Children’s Partnership, in close collaboration with state leaders, including: California Department of Education; California School Boards Association; California School-Based Health Alliance; California Coverage & Health Initiatives; The California Endowment’s Get Covered / Asegúrate Campaign; and Covered California.
